The Old State House Museum is celebrating the 80th annual Arkansas State Fair  this year with two fair-themed exhibitions, “80 Blue Ribbon Years: Cotton to Cattle” and “Our Fair Ladies.”

“80 Blue Ribbon Years” features images and memorabilia illustrating how the fair’s focus changed from agricultural to livestock. It’s a runup to a larger State Fair exhibit coming in 2020 that will feature artifacts donated by the Arkansas Livestock Show Association. “Our Fair Ladies” includes gowns and pageant attire worn by rodeo and fair queens.

The museum, which is open 5-8 p.m. every second Friday of the month for 2nd Friday Art Night, will host the band Runaway Planet at the Oct. 11 event.
