THURSDAY 2/20. Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. 7:30 p.m. $25.
Look, violins, chamber repertoire is too big a thing for you to monopolize, and ensembles like the Poulenc Trio are here to remind you that winds (double reeds, no less!) can play at that game, too. Named after a work for piano, oboe and bassoon by French composer Francis Poulenc, this celebrated piano-wind group comes to Little Rock as guests of the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock with funding from the Arkansas Arts Council. They’ll perform that namesake work as well as Viet Cuong’s “Trains of Thought,” Shostakovich’s “Romance, Op. 97a,” Beethoven’s “Trio, Opus 11 ‘Gassenhauer’ ” and Rossini’s “Fantaisie Concertante sur des thèmes de ‘l’Italiana in Algeri.’ ” Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine follow the performance; get tickets at chambermusiclr.com/tickets.
