Old houses and graveyards are the meat and potatoes of spooky fare, and the Quapaw Quarter has both. The Quapaw Quarter Association preservation group is taking advantage of that and hosting its first Halloween-themed event: Tours of important historic sites, some of which are surely (or surely not) haunted. Shelle Stormoe, QQA membership coordinator, is also a storyteller, and she’ll be along for the ride to tell atmospheric tales with a bit of history. The price isn’t so hefty when you consider it guarantees real spirits — in the form of a signature cocktail — along with snacks, beer and wine and a signature cocktail, a little liquid courage for the faint of heart. (There will be non-alcoholic libations as well.) The tours take off from Curran Hall, 615 E. Capitol Ave., itself a historic site, and continues to Mount Holly, the famously phantasmal MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, the North Little Rock Heritage Center and other, lesser-known haunts. For tickets, go to the events link on the QQA website or to centralarkansastickets.com.
