By Leslie Newell Peacock

5:30 reception, 6 p.m. talk Feb. 11, Windgate Center of Art + Design, UA Little Rock. Free.

D*Face public art in Fort Smith

The Architecture and Design Network brings Fort Smith entrepreneur and 64.6 Downtown founder Steve Clark to Little Rock to talk about how communities can use public art and other design elements to create a sense of place. In Fort Smith, that means art by muralists from all over the world (The Unexpected project) and Gateway Park, drivers of economic development downtown. Clark is the 2019 recipient of the Governor’s Arts Award for Arts Community Development and has won the AIA Arkansas Award of Merit for his work restoring public places and in design. A reception at 5:30 p.m. precedes the talk.
