McMillan is an Essence Lifetime Award winner and has appeared on”Oprah,” “The View” and “The Daily Show.” The lecture series has featured some of the most important figures in contemporary life, including Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Julian Castro and Robert Menchu, among others.
