The University of Central Arkansas is paying tribute to the late artist Gene Hatfield with a show of his work, “Traveling’ Man,” at UCA Downtown. Hatfield was both UCA alumnus and professor of art at UCA, and was known for turning the front yard of his home into an art environment with sculptures made from cast-off items. The exhibit includes paintings of American scenes from his personal collection; he also worked in collages.
Some works in the show are for sale; proceeds go to the Gene Hatfield Art Scholarship and the Nicole Wable-Hatfield International Studies Scholarship at UCA. The exhibition is hosted by UCA’s Division of Outreach and Community Engagement.
