“UBUNTU” is a Zulu term, Hearne Fine Art explains in a news release, that describes “humanity as it relates to an individual’s relationship to others”: “I am because we are.” It’s the title of the exhibition at Hearne featuring works by five contemporary artists, each expressing the UBUNTU philosophy in their respective media: 3D artists CHUKES and Kevin Cole, mixed media artist Alvin Roy, representational artist Alfred Conteh and abstractionist TAFA.
Hearne will host a reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. CHUKES will give a talk at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
