Oct. 1-Dec. 28. Delta Cultural Center hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat.
Photographs of blues and gospel artists from the Southeastern United States by Music Maker Relief Foundation founder Timothy Duffy go on exhibit Oct. 1 at the Delta Cultural Center. “We Are the Music Makers” features 30 panels that tell the stories of the famed, including the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and the less well-known, like blues musician Guitar Gabriel and circus performer and snake handler Willa Mae Buckner. Audio and video presentations are part of the exhibition, which premiered at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in 2014.
Duffy, of North Carolina, is both documentarian and photographer. His 2019 book “Blue Muse” includes tintype portraits and an album of recordings of the featured musicians.
