Illustrator Higgins Bond, who came to her hometown for the Arkansas Literary Festival, returns to Hearne Fine Art, 1001 Wright Ave., for a reception 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Bond, the first African-American woman to design a postage stamp, illustrates books for Scholastic Inc. and has exhibited her work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She’s been showing her illustrations at Hearne since April; the show will go down June 1.
